Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how IVEA Inter LLC (“FOMO Events,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the FOMO Events (formerly FOMO Rewards and IVEA Rewards) mobile app and related services (the “Service”).
Contents
1. Information we collect
- Mobile phone number — used to create your account and sign you in with a one-time code.
- Name and email address — your name as you enter it, and an email address if you sign in with Apple or Google.
- Loyalty activity — points, tier, visits, check-ins, streaks, rewards you redeem, and photos of receipts you submit to earn points.
- Purchases — a record of gift cards, event tickets and FOMO Plus subscriptions you buy, including amount and date.
- Events, plans and member offers — events and offers you save; free event reservations and issued tickets; plans you create or join, including invited members, meeting details, notes and responses; and offers you share in friend chats.
- Event ratings and reviews — the event you rate, your star rating, optional review, and the dates you submit or edit it. We also keep reports and moderation decisions about this content.
- Location — when you check in at a restaurant, open the map, or choose to share your position with friends. Friend sharing is off by default. After you grant location permission and select accepted friends, we store your precise coordinates, accuracy, update time, selected recipients and sharing expiry. Each sharing session lasts one hour. Coordinates update only while the app is in the foreground; we do not collect background location updates for this feature. If updates pause, your last shared position can remain visible to the selected friends until the hour ends or you successfully stop sharing. Removing or blocking a friend removes their access.
- Contacts for invitations — if you choose to invite people from your contacts, the app asks permission and uses the names and phone numbers you select on your device to prepare individual invitations. Your address book and selected contact details are not uploaded to FOMO. You can enter details manually instead or leave the invitation step. When you choose to send, the selected number and message are handed to your device’s messaging app; if messaging is unavailable, you can choose an app from the system share sheet. We do not send invitations automatically.
- Photos and posts — photos and captions you post to your friends feed, and your profile photo.
- Messages — messages you send to friends in the app, and the questions you ask the in-app assistant.
- Food preferences and allergies — optional. If you enter them, we use them to flag dishes that may not suit you. Allergy information is health-related, so we treat it as sensitive and never use it for advertising.
- Device & usage data — device type, app version, a device identifier used to deliver push notifications, and in-app activity used to operate and improve the Service.
About payments. The app does process payments — you can buy gift cards, event tickets and a FOMO Plus subscription in it. Those payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details are entered into Stripe’s own secure payment sheet and sent directly to Stripe; we never receive or store your card or bank account number. We keep a record of the purchase itself — what you bought, the amount, and the date — so we can honour it and meet our tax and accounting obligations.
2. How we use information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To run the loyalty program — award and track points, tiers, streaks and rewards, and let restaurants verify a reward you present.
- To provide the features you use: friends, chat, photo posts, check-ins, the map, event discovery, saved events and offers, shared plans, ratings, member promotions, gift cards, event tickets and FOMO Plus.
- To process payments and deliver what you bought, through Stripe.
- To send you service messages such as sign-in codes and, if you allow notifications, reminders about your streak or expiring rewards.
- To keep the community safe — checking posted photos and text for objectionable content, and handling reports and blocks.
- To meet legal, tax and security obligations, and to detect and prevent fraud.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with data brokers. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
3. Mobile messaging (SMS)
FOMO Events sends SMS text messages solely to deliver one-time verification codes that secure your account. This is not a marketing program.
- Opt-in. You opt in to receive these texts by entering your mobile number in the FOMO Events app and requesting a code. By doing so you consent to receive a one-time verification code by SMS at the number you provide.
- Message frequency. You receive a message only when you request to sign in or verify your number — typically one message per request. Frequency is not recurring and is controlled by you.
- Cost. FOMO Events does not charge for these messages. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier.
- Opt-out. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. You will receive a confirmation and no further texts. Note that opting out may prevent you from receiving sign-in codes.
- Help. Reply HELP for assistance, or email info@fomorewards.co.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. We share your phone number only with the messaging provider that transmits the codes on our behalf, strictly to deliver them.
For a full description of our messaging program and the exact messages we send, see our Text Messages & SMS Terms.
Personal invitations are separate from our verification-code program. You choose each recipient, review or edit each invitation and confirm sending in your own messaging app. The message can include your FOMO referral code. Your messaging provider handles delivery; a handoff or send result does not confirm delivery or that a friend joined. We record a referral when a joining member uses your code, rather than by uploading or matching your contacts.
4. AI features
Two features in the app use Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company in the United States, as a service provider.
- Ask FOMO, the in-app assistant. When you use it we send Anthropic the messages you type, along with your loyalty profile and history: your first name, points balance and tier, whether you have FOMO Plus, which restaurants you have visited and when, the points you have earned, rewards you have redeemed, any gift cards or tickets you hold, and — if you have entered them — your dietary preferences and allergies. That is what lets it answer questions like whether you can afford a ticket or what is on at the restaurant you visit most. We ask for your explicit permission the first time you open it, and nothing is sent unless you agree. You can withdraw that permission at any time from inside the assistant, and it stops immediately. Declining does not affect any other part of the app.
- Photo checks. When you post a photo to your friends feed, the image is sent to Anthropic to check it for objectionable content before it is published. This is a safety measure required of us by the App Store, so it is not optional if you want to post a photo — but you are never required to post one.
Anthropic processes this information on our behalf and does not use it to train their models. We do not send them your phone number, your card or bank details, your precise location, your messages with friends, or anything about your friends.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
We share information only with the following, and only so the Service can work:
- Stripe — payment processing for gift cards, event tickets and FOMO Plus. Your card details go to Stripe directly.
- Anthropic — the assistant and photo checks described in section 4.
- Supabase — our hosting, database and file storage provider, where your account and content are stored.
- OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF) — provides the map tiles used to draw the area you view. Tile requests send your IP address, app or browser request information, and the requested map tile coordinates to OSMF’s servers. These requests can reveal the approximate area you are viewing. We do not include member or friend identifiers, or the precise coordinates used for location sharing, in the tile request. See the OSMF Privacy Policy.
- Twilio — transmits your one-time sign-in codes. It receives your phone number solely to deliver them.
- Apple, Google and Expo — deliver push notifications if you enable them, and support Sign in with Apple and Google.
- Participating restaurants and event staff — when you redeem a reward, show a ticket or present a member offer, staff see what is needed to honour it. An offer proof displays your member name, applicable membership status, benefit, terms and expiry.
- Other members — your name, profile photo, posts and messages are visible to friends you accept, and your location only to the accepted friends you select during an active sharing session. Shared plan details are visible to the host and invited members; participants can see each other’s names, profile photos and responses, even if they are not all friends with one another, subject to blocking and account access controls. Your event rating, review, displayed author name and submission or edit date can be seen by other signed-in members, not only your friends, unless the rating is hidden or excluded by blocking. Playing an in-app game posts your score to its leaderboard automatically, where your first name and last initial are visible to every member — not only your friends.
- Legal — where required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our members and staff.
- Business transfers — if the business is sold or merged, your information may transfer with it, subject to this Policy.
6. Data retention & deleting your account
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and thereafter only as required to meet legal, tax or security obligations.
You can delete your account from inside the app — open Profile, scroll to Delete account, and confirm. This is permanent and immediate. We erase your account record, your points and activity history, your posts, photos, messages and profile photo, and we cancel any active FOMO Plus subscription so you are not billed again.
A gift card you bought for someone else stays valid for them. We also keep the minimum transaction records that tax and accounting law requires us to keep. If you would rather we handled the deletion for you, email info@fomorewards.co from the address on your account.
7. Security
Your data is stored with our hosting provider using encryption in transit and at rest, and access is restricted to the systems and staff that need it. Sign-in uses a one-time code rather than a password. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affecting it occurs.
8. Your choices & rights
- Access and correction — view and edit your name, email, food preferences and allergies in the app.
- Deletion — delete your account at any time as described in section 6.
- Location — choose recipients and stop sharing in the app at any time. Sharing access ends after one hour. Turning off location permission stops new updates, but does not itself remove a position already shared: use Stop sharing while connected to remove it sooner, or let the sharing timer expire.
- Contacts and invitations — deny or revoke contact permission in device settings, enter recipients manually, edit invitation text, cancel in your messaging app, or skip invitations.
- Event reviews and plans — edit or delete your own event rating, report content or block its author, and change your response to a shared plan. A plan’s host can cancel it.
- Notifications — turn push notifications off in your device settings; reply STOP to opt out of texts.
- AI — withdraw permission for the assistant at any time from inside it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what we hold and to request its deletion. To exercise any right, contact us at info@fomorewards.co.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
